When It Hurts Well, its hard Holding on I'm on fire inside and, I can’t say what’s going on The way I'm wired it weighs me down Like I'm holding up the world I could use some hands of healing Before I have a mind to not be so strong Right now, I'm fine But, I'm calling I have angels above me but, the devils they keep on clawing I have one safe place to hide me It’s the same old hole I crawl in I could use some hands of healing Before I'm in a mind, I don’t belong in Its hard to pay attention When you don’t know how it works Everyone has opinions But, to me their only words I try to find an answer Around every given turn But, I find myself enabled Sometimes all that helps is when it hurts Sometimes all that helps is when it hurts Sometimes all that helps is when it hurts Sometimes all that helps is when it hurts Its still hard Holding on I'm on fire inside and, I don’t know what’s going on The way I'm wired it weighs me down Like I'm holding up the world I could use some hands of healing But, sometimes all that helps is when it hurts Sometimes all that helps is when it hurts Sometimes all that helps is when it hurts Sometimes all that helps is when it hurts

Jesus On A Chain I am a God fearing man So, I fear nothing In all of my days aint seen nothing as strange As Jesus on a chain I am a God fearing man So, I fear nothing Intrigued by the legend but, im sure he’ll understand That a ghost is a shadow of a man This world is so much smaller And the order is taller The famine it aint food but, its knowledge If I need Jesus on a chain Just to kneel down and pray You're telling all that he sacrificed for was in vain I am a God fearing man So, I fear nothing But in all of my days aint seen nothing as strange As Jesus on a chain

Did It All Wrong Well, I'm out I think I'm done Been a lot of things Couldn't focus on one I crossed this heart, too many times I did it all wrong Been let go Been torn apart I'm closer to the end Than I am the start Crossed this heart, too many times I did it all wrong No matter what you do Don't you be like me I did my best and tried to be strong But I did it all wrong Did it all wrong I did it all wrong I’m shut in I'm shut down If you lead to the door I'll probably turn around I bought this farm, no end in sight I got too lost, in those bright lights I crossed this heart, too many times I did it all wrong

Hell 04:42
Hell Well, I look like hell Hell aint been that good to me I don’t know much else And its pretty plain to see Aint nobody else, I can atke the blame Its hardly perfect but, what is perfect anyway I’m as sore as hell From the night before Battered from the bad decisions For the good I was fighting for I’m well hung over and over dressed It aint deserved but, I beat the devil at his best But, I went through hell Ain't no sore eyes coming to look this way I’ve been through hell To keep bad luck at bay I am still alive For what its worth Some say it’s a blessing Some say it’s a curse Ive been beat up and beat down Somehow, I survived The scars are hard But, at least they aint X’s for eyes But, I went through Hell Aint no sore eyes coming to look this way I’ve been through hell To keep bad luck at bay I'm well hung over and over dressed Though it aint deserved I beat the devil at his best But I went through hell I’ve been through hell I went through hell I've been through hell

Aint What You Wanna Hear Its another lonely New Years After another dismal Christmas He's preaching at the the bar on the south side of town Aint no one listening You know that;s how it goes Its that time of year It don’t matter what they say If it aint what you wanna hear The smoke fills up the night As the sun it takes its time Everything you’re trying to avoid Is in the corner of your eye You know that’s how it goes We'll all end up in tears It don’t matter what they say If it aint what you wanna hear It don’t matter what they say If it aint what you wanna hear Its another empty seat In the same old no show town There aint a promise any one of them could make To bring us all around You know that’s how it goes We'll complain about it for years It don’t matter what they say If it aint what you wanna hear

Broken Home 04:18
Broken Home In the middle of the tall grass A house that’s trimmed with broken glass Between the porch light and all the missing windows Cinder blocks are chimney black The tuft of hair it used to be a cat The pile of rust once was a wood burning stove Rats in the kitchen Who broke the oven door Screen door’s thrashing every time the north wind blows There's a cellar door with a staircase Its dark & damp, it don’t go no place Makes you wonder, if there was a calm before the storm We to heed and we took warning You could smell it in the air We didn’t think it would go so far But that was the night … they caught us runnning scared There's a shotgun and its jack-knifed It aint loaded but its been shot twice The barrel is cold but the butt’s still warm There's a murder of crow in the willow Maggots in the mattress and the pillows With the blood soaked through the linens in the mud We took heed and we took warning You could smell it in the air We didn’t think it would go so far But that was the night, they caught us running scared In the middle of the tall grass A house that’s trimmed with broken glass Between the porch light and all the missing windows Shelter of my blood and bone, ashes of a selfish fire Skeleton of stick and stone, I left behind
